WASHINGTON — A new study says hiring a great human resource person is a no-brainer, but only if you have the right people in place.
“A great HR team helps to make hiring decisions easier, more efficient and more productive,” said Robert B. Anderson, president of the Human Resource Consulting Group, in a blog post.
“But even a team with the best people can only do so much.”
The firm, founded in 2010, analyzes job openings and trends in the industry.
In the past year, it’s looked at 4,000 job openings to identify the top 50 companies that best match the needs of HR departments.
According to the company, HR is the number one issue for the U.S. economy and is responsible for about 80% of job losses.
The top 10 most common HR challenges are turnover, workload, turnover, team composition, communication, collaboration, and the ability to meet the needs and expectations of a diverse group of employees.
As a result, the firm advises companies to look beyond hiring managers, hiring consultants and HR consultants, and even to consider recruiting employees through social media, e-mail and word of mouth.
In order to find the best candidates for HR positions, the company looks at the characteristics of the HR staff and the needs that employers want to meet.
For instance, the research firm says that hiring managers are key to identifying good HR candidates.
It’s also a good idea to ask about the job requirements, and not just the qualifications of the candidates.
HR departments are responsible for determining the specific responsibilities of the employees and the overall organization, Anderson said.
When hiring a HR employee, Anderson says you should be looking for someone who can handle a variety of roles, including:A person with experience working with HR departments, including a supervisor or HR manager, senior HR employee and an HR employee.
A person who understands the human resources needs of the company and the company culture.
A strong interpersonal communication skill.
A knowledge of the workplace culture and the HR team’s priorities and processes.
The person should be able to work independently, work well with other HR teams, and be able respond to changing requirements.
A team player.
Employers can benefit from the best HR teams by recruiting employees from different departments, Anderson wrote.
“It’s important to know who’s working on your project, and how to connect with them,” he said.
For example, a team leader should be a good candidate for an HR manager because she or he is responsible to the project manager and the other HR managers.
A good HR manager should be familiar with HR procedures and procedures and understand the HR processes and processes, Anderson added.
“The HR manager also needs to be knowledgeable of the business challenges facing the company.”
It takes a team to do the job, Anderson noted, but you can get there if you ask the right questions.
For that reason, hiring managers should not be the only people that have to take responsibility for the HR department.
“HR teams should not replace the person with HR experience, but they should be the first line of defense in the case of unexpected issues,” Anderson wrote in the blog post .
“When you need to replace a person, you need a person who knows how to do it.”
