Human resources benefits are a powerful tool for freelancers, but they’re also a powerful employer tool.
Here’s how to avoid taking on too much responsibility or making a mistake.
1: Read your human resources contract You need to be able to read the contract that your employer is paying you for and understand what benefits it provides.
Your job could be in the middle of an application process or your job could require a lengthy review.
Read it carefully.
If it’s unclear what the benefits are or how much money they’re paying, it might make it harder for you to negotiate a fair wage.
2: Look for and read your contract before you apply What are the benefits your employer’s offering you?
Ask questions about the benefits and the salary they’re giving you.
Do you need to get specific about the salary?
3: Read and sign your contract to confirm it Your job may not have been advertised yet, so it may be hard to find out if you’ve been accepted.
But if you sign your employment contract, it will be a good sign that you’ve read it carefully, and you’ve understood it. 4: Do your research on your job, and sign a non-disclosure agreement Before you sign the non-confidential employment agreement (NDA), it should contain the following information: What is the job you’re applying for?
What are your responsibilities?
What is your employer offering?
What benefits are available?
5: Write down your salary What you’re paid?
What you earn?
How long does it take?
6: Get feedback from your HR manager If you’ve got concerns about the performance of your job as a freelancing employee, your HR representative may be able help.
He or she may be willing to explain what you can expect if you’re promoted, if the company expands or moves, or if you need a raise.
7: Work through your contract Your contract should state your job responsibilities, including when to start and stop work, when you can work from home or when you have to take leave.
8: Read the NDA You should read the NAA before signing the NADA.
The NDA gives you a copy of the contract, which you should read to make sure you understand it. 9: Write the NIA and sign it If you don’t understand the contract or your rights as a human resource employee, you should write the NCA and sign.
This will give you a legal agreement that covers what you’re entitled to and how to enforce your rights.
Read the agreement carefully.
It should explain what your rights are and how you can get them if you want them.
10: Write your NIA If you can’t understand what your employer has promised in the NPA, you can ask the HR manager to send you a written explanation of the benefits you’ve agreed to in your contract.
11: Sign the NRA You should sign the NARA, which is a legal document that sets out what your legal rights are.
It outlines your legal obligations, including your right to a fair salary.
12: Get a copy from your employer If you have questions about your job performance, contact the employer.
They can usually help you find out more about what you’ll need to do if you get promoted or have a raise in the job.
