Posted June 01, 2019 18:20:49The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued an interim order that seeks to prevent Amazon from making changes to the way it monitors consumer complaints and data.
According to a complaint filed with the commission, Amazon is failing to maintain its compliance with data protection laws.
The complaint says Amazon has failed to monitor the accuracy of the information submitted to it by its customers.
It says Amazon’s failure to monitor data breaches the FTC’s own Code of Conduct for Consumer Complaints and Data Protection.
The FTC said it is issuing the interim order because it is concerned Amazon’s conduct is being exploited by others.
Amazon says it has received a number of complaints about the complaints it has been collecting.
